A Prenatal Diagnosis of Trisomy 18 Accompanied by Dandy-Walker Cyst

Abstract
|
|
|
Trisomy 18 is the second most common autosomal trisomy in chromosomal aberrations of newborn.
It is usually accompainied by multiple malformations such as CHD, obstruction of G-I tract, abnormalites of extremity and CNS.
We had a interesting prenatal diagnostic case of Trisomy 18 that was therapeutically terminate.
On ultrasonogram at 28 wks, there are increased space of cisterna magna with collapsed cerebellum, two umbilical vessels and unil-ateral absence of radius.
We've done transabdominally CVS (chrionic villi sampling) for chro-mosomal analysis and it revealed 47, XY, +18.
